About Tardigrade Development

Who Are We?

Tardigrade Development was started by prosocial collaborators to incubate consultants, organizations, and changemakers who are united by our mission to build the capacities of scrappy emerging social enterprise startups and movements. Our services range from collaborative fundraising strategy to digital marketing/outreach to process creation and HR management.

Our larger vision emphasizes the value and growth potential of startups and the visionaries behind them so we employ a sliding pay scale and service bundling.

We choose our partners and clients carefully, because we believe that nurturing collaborative and trustworthy change starts small but can pay out in a big way.

Why Tardigrades?

Tardigrades, also known as water bears or moss piglets, are microscopic eight-legged animals that have survived trips to the moon.

Why do we, at Tardigrade, value Tardigrades and how does this relate to our work? Tardigrades, according to National Geographic, “would likely survive the apocalypse,” and despite extremely hostile environments tardigrades can keep themselves alive and thriving.

As many nonprofit startups can attest to, and much like the tardigrade, our team has survived and grown through grassroots and real-world experience. We have been the tiny changemakers striving for order in a chaotic sector for over a decade, and we want to help others to embrace their inner tardigrade as they succeed no matter the sector.

At Tardigrade, we are continuously building upon our skills, experience, and growing network to not only help less resource rich intiatives, but also be boots on the ground for lasting and resilaint projects + people!
